I’m Pressley. I teach and work with student journalists.

I’m the editor of College Town at the News & Observer. I also teach reporting classes in UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Media and Journalism.

I’m a Tar Heel, twice. I used to be the education reporter at the Wilmington (N.C.) StarNews. I’ve also worked for the Daily Tar Heel, the Charlotte Observer, the Dallas Morning News and the New York Times.

My 15 minutes of fame came as an 11-year-old competitor in the 2001 National Spelling Bee. I was eliminated in the first round. (You try spelling “involucre.”)

I like bakingbasketball and a black Lab named Zeb.
