I’m Pressley. I teach journalism and work on education.

I’m the N.C. Research Fellow at College Advising Corps. I also teach reporting classes in UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Media and Journalism.

I’m a Tar Heel, twice. I used to run College Town and write about education at the News & Observer. I’ve also worked for the Daily Tar Heel, the Wilmington (N.C.) Star News, the Charlotte Observer, the Dallas Morning News and the New York Times.

My 15 minutes of fame came as an 11-year-old competitor in the 2001 National Spelling Bee. I was eliminated in the first round. (You try spelling “involucre.”)

I like bakingbasketball and a black Lab named Zeb.
